Internet Marketing & Peer Learning Help Small Business Build Brand

In the last few weeks I had the opportunity to experience the power of peer learning by participating on a nationally syndicated Internet radio show CRITICAL MASS Coast to Coast. Because of this experience I was also again reminded of the power of the Internet and free marketing and promotion to bring unknown businesses together to benefit each other in the greater universe in which we all operate.

One of the really interesting things of our experience is how the Internet has opened up new channels of communication distribution for peer-to-peer learning that was previously unimaginable and unaffordable. After all we are just a very small B2B marketing consulting firm that specializes in helping small businesses that sell consultative products and services to other businesses. Yet, every day we are learning new ways to leverage the Internet to help others and promote our business. Are you?

The Power of Free On the Internet

This marketing opportunity was free for us to participate. Kenneth Wachs, President of Renaissance EXECUTIVE FORUMS - Philadelphia HQ approached us after reading some information on MyMarketingDept Inc., and thought that I might be a terrific guest to talk about small business marketing nationally.

He felt that our willingness to share our knowledge and experiences to help other businesses is exactly the kind of guest that makes the show interesting and informative. Ken then asked if I would appear on the CRITICAL MASS Coast to Coast show, which airs every Thursday at 3:00 – 4:00 PM PST live on OC Talk Radio .Net. After speaking with me, he contacted the show and suggested I would be interested in making a guest appearance.

After the show we were given a free audio of my interview to promote my appearance on the show. We then downloaded free audio editing software from AudaCity at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. It took a little while to master the basic editing capability but managed to master it.

We then issued a press release on my interview on the show. So with a little effort we were able to help company by helping others benefit from our appearance on an Internet radio show. The show has over 85,000 weekly listeners nationally and is syndicated online and archives are available on Apple’s iTunes and other podcasting services.

It was flattering to be asked to participate and share our thoughts, insights and expertise on small business B2B marketing to a national audience of business peers. This was great thought leadership and brand exposure for our firm. This is a prime example of turning something small like I read about your company and thought I would give you a call into a fantastic promotion vehicle for our firm.

I would be remiss not to tell you more about the radio show. The host of the CRITICAL MASS: Coast to Coast radio show is Richard Franzi, who is also Founder and CEO of Critical Mass for Business. Franzi is an authority on the power of peer learning.
